The key to Jewish continuity is our people's commitment to the study of our sacred traditions. One of the greatest challenges facing Judaism today is our inability to articulate to a younger generation what Judaism has to say about the issues of our day.

To address this issue, we offer a variety of programs that occur throughout the week which aim to make Judaism contemporary and meaningful in an existential way.

Learning Biblical Hebrew - Mondays from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
This is a great program where each person can explore the thought process that animates the ancient Hebrew language. We explore syntax, grammar, and verbal archaeology (the root words and their theological nuances).

Gabbai Class - Wednesday Nights - 7:00 - 7:45 p.m.
A Gabbai is a learned member of the Shul (Synagogue) who assists in the Torah Reading every week at Shabbat. Come and learn what a Gabbai truly does.

Shabbat Parsha Class - Saturdays - 12:45 - 1:30 p.m.
Come and participate in one of our most successful programs to date, as we cross-examine the medieval rabbis and their interpretations. Much of the material is from Rabbi Samuel's new Torah commentary.

Com University - birth and Rebirth Through Genesis 1 - 4
On Sundays February 11th, 18th, & 25th at St. Ambrose University

Next month we will be starting our new beginner's class on Learning Hebrew and Biblical Greek with Father Baisal. Jews and non-Jews alike are invited to check out this exciting new class.

We also offer classes in reading/chanting Torah. Please call the Center office to schedule a convenient time.

It is our hope that these learning experiences will deepen your relation to Jewish practice, the Jewish people, and the Tri-City Jewish Center community.

May this be a year of joy, study, and friendship.

Shalom!

Tri-City Jewish Center is a congregation supporting Jewish life
in the Quad Cities and the surrounding communities.
